Spots available for the District 3 BIG IDEA Teen Retreat!

Spots are still available for the District 3 BIG IDEA Teen Retreat scheduled for January 15-16 at General Butler State Park in Carrollton, KY.

The teen retreat is a one day overnight event which would include fun and innovative leadership workshops, project hour, and a time for you to meet and greet people from very diverse backgrounds and make lasting friendships. It will build a bond for when teens travel together to State Teen Conference. The cost of the event is $50.

Global Gourmet Cooking Series

Learn about different countries, their culture and food at a new cooking series offered to Campbell County 4-Hers ages 9-12! Classes will meet from 4:00 – 6:30 at the extension office. Must be able to attend all classes: February 24, March 24, April 28 and May 26. Other requirements include- must be willing to try new and different foods and use a knife. This same series will be offered again in September. Youth can participate in the series only once to allow others to participate. There will be a Global Gourmet II series in the future for those who have already completed the first Global Gourmet series.

THANK YOU!

The annual 4-H Recognition night was a huge success. Over 130 4-Her's and their family members were present! Thank you to the 4-Her's and their families for attending the event!

We would also to thank the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3205 of Alexandria and the Midwest Gas Company of Highland Heights for sponsoring the The Outstanding 4-Her Awards.

Thank You to Julia Steffen who gave her award winning Volunteerism speech. Out of over 31,000 students who entered the Bill of Rights Institute Essay contest Campbell County 4-Her Julia Steffen placed 3rd in her region and received $1,250 along with an all expense paid trip to Washington DC.
Thank you to those who gave photos for the slide show, the 4-H clubs and individuals who donated items for the silent auction, persons who participated in the silent auction, families who brought food, volunteers who helped with meal and the volunteers who helped clean after the event.
We must also thank the members of the Campbell County 4-H Council for their continued support of 4-H. Thank you for making 2009 such a great year!

Campbell County Outstanding 4-Hers Recognized

The Campbell County 4-H Advisory Council held its annual 4-H Recognition Night on November 9th to recognize all of the outstanding youth involved in the club programs and activities over the past year. As part of the recognition program, two overall Outstanding 4-Hers are named each year. This year’s winners were Kimberly Campbell and Lauren Steffen.

The Outstanding 4-Her Awards include cash awards made possible by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3205 of Alexandria and the Midwest Gas Company of Highland Heights.

Recognition Night

Don't miss the 4-H Recognition Night on Monday, November 9th at 6:00 pm at the Campbell County Cooperative Extension Service office. All 4-H’ers and 4-H families are welcome to attend! Register by calling the office at 572-2600 by Friday, November 6.

The Recognition Night will be a fun filled night honoring 4-H’ers for their participation in the past year’s activities. Each 4-H’er who attends will receive a special gift. Fair checks will be distributed for all 4-H’ers who exhibited their project or animal at the Alexandria Fair. The night will also include a silent auction and slide show of photos from the past year.

Remember the meal is a potluck. We ask each family to bring a side dish and Campbell County 4-H will provide the drinks, meat, and dessert! If you have any other questions please call the office at 572-2600.
